RG Snyman: Offload king of locks
The 24-year-old second row maestro RG Snyman has cemented himself as a fan favourite at Loftus Versfeld with the giant like figure having already dazzled many fans with his athleticism and almost supernatural ability to offload from just about anywhere on the field.
The Springbok lock does not shy away from his traditional roles on the field as he makes barnstorming runs, tackles, cleans rucks as well as being the engine room of the Vodacom Bulls’ scrum and securing ball in the lineout.
Snyman has been a regular face in the Vodacom Bulls’ Super Rugby match day teams in recent seasons and has racked up 42 caps and has scored two tries since his debut in 2016.
He has represented the Vodacom Blue Bulls at Under-19, Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup level while internationally he has represented the Junior Springboks, SA A (against the England Saxons) and Springbok XV (against the Barbarians) before becoming a fully fledged Springbok against England in 2018.
The match against the Emirates Lions marks his final match in blue at Loftus Versfeld as the former Afrikaanse Hoërskool scholar is set to join Honda Heat in the Japanese Top League after his national duty at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
